Bring a Tool. Swap a Seed. Build a Resource.
The Astoria Tool Library, a program of the Lower Columbia Preservation Society, will host its Open House on Saturday, March 29, 12–4 PM at 591 12th St, Astoria. This new community-powered lending library provides affordable, short-term access to hand and small power tools to support home repair, historic preservation, and gardening across the Lower Columbia region. By sharing tools instead of buying them for one-time use, residents can care for homes and landscapes more sustainably and affordably. LCPS is seeking donations of gently used hand and small power tools. Community members can donate tools, sign up for membership, and learn about volunteer opportunities during the Open House. The event also features a Seed Swap in partnership with North Coast Food Web, along with information about local “Library of Things” resources supporting food production and entrepreneurship. Together, these programs strengthen preservation, resilience, and shared community resources along the Columbia River. |
